High Holy Days 5787
Tragically, the starvation crisis in Gaza has only worsened in 2026. The Israeli government introduced new requirements for international aid organizations, which caused groups like World Central Kitchen to greatly reduce or cease operations in Gaza. For most families in Gaza, aid kitchens provide their only meal of the day, falling short of providing complete nutrition but playing a critical role in mitigating starvation. Today, only three World Central Kitchens remain in Gaza, and smaller groups like the Gaza Soup Kitchen are more crucial than ever. (Learn more about the current food aid crisis in Gaza here.)

We have created a facilitator's guide and all the materials you need to lead a gathering about the food aid crisis in Gaza in your community sukkah.
In this program, we will observe the Jewish mystical practice of inviting Ushpizin (guests) into our sukkah. This program invites the memories of Palestinians from Gaza into your sukkah.
